My first 14er of 2016 and my first 14er in 4 years. This was a little easier than when I did Gray’s Peak in 2012. It was still difficult but much easier now that I’ve been hiking out here these last few years. Weather was amazing. It was about 60-70 degrees and sunny the entire […]
I found this hike from Backpacker Magazine and I’ll list the link at the bottom of the article. It is described as a kind of secluded hike (not a lot of people) by the magazine and now that it has been published there…and now here…I am not sure that it will remain like that much […]
I wanted to go to this a couple years ago but it was hit by a wildfire. The plan this year is to head down, hike around for the morning, and then stop for pizza on the way back to Denver. The pizza place, Godfather’s Pizza. This day will be amazing because we’ll be hiking […]
Hiked on Green Mountain today over off of Alameda Parkway. My friend and I started late in the afternoon after we got off work. She claimed to be outta shape but she out hiked me…as expected haha. We took the shorter of the trails which I believe to have the greatest elevation gain for the […]
This was a good trip gone bad. First of all this would be more like car camping. We only hiked about a quarter mile in to a pre-established camp site. Weather was amazing to start with but ended up getting chilly fast. We didn’t gather enough fire wood to keep the fire going more than […]
This is a 8-mile round trip winter hike up in the Guanella Pass area.Snow shoes may or may not be required yet. I was just in the area last night to scout trails and they are pretty snow packed so I’ll be checking the weather again soon.
I don’t have a date set for this yet as I’m still looking for a good time to go. This is a very popular spot so with parking hard to get sometimes, I’m going to be adding this to another hike around the Aspen area. www.visitglenwood.com/things-to-do/hanging-lake
A Colorado 14er which will be my second one since I’ve moved to Colorado. Check out this link here at EveryTrail. Edit: This was supposed to be my second 14er but I ended up doing Mt. Sherman as my second.
Visitors will enjoy a relatively easy hike through an exceptional alpine landscape to the lakes. Mild trail conditions are well suited for runners, backpackers, families and winter recreation. For more information, check out this link over at ProTrails.
I am going to attempt for my third time to reach Lake Abyss in Pike National Forest. My first attempt three years ago I made it within a mile before I lost the trail, later realizing that the trail was also a creek. My second attempt this past summer I made it as far as […]
