Equipment and Gear Load-Out
On this page you’ll find my standard load-out of gear that I take with me on all my hikes. This includes both day hikes and overnights. While most of the gear will be the same, some things are specific to the hike and they will be listed on the posts I make of the hikes. Obviously, day hikes I’ll take the day pack and nights I’ll take the bigger pack. Links to the gear and where I bought them are included where available.

**Packed in a small stuff sack that goes on both day and overnight hikes. Other miscellaneous items such as matches, fire starter, bug spray, chap stick, etc. and other small items are also carried in this sack.
++Taken in the winter only
I’m not an ultra-light backpacker nor would I even consider myself a light backpacker. Everything in my pack I make use of when I hike. My winter load-out is usually less than 40lbs if not just a tiny bit more. That includes food and water. My summer load-out is roughly 35-37lbs also including food and water. I do have plans to upgrade some of my gear to save space and lighten the load. But I have to save for it.
My camera is a Sony A6000 with the 16mm-50mm kit lens and a 55mm-210mm lens. I also carry a few various filters while I try and perfect my photography!
